Afrofest and Block Party Drive-in concerts scheduled for the Beaches International Jazz Festival this weekend – Beach Metro Community News
The Afrofest Showcase driving concerts are scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday at Guildwood GO Station as part of this month’s Beaches International Jazz Festival.
The Beaches International Jazz Festival continues this weekend with drive-in Afrofest and Block Party concerts.
It’s the 33 of the festivalrd year, and as it did in 2020, the July Jazz Festival had to change the way its events are presented due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For this weekend, a trio of driving concerts are scheduled for the parking lot at Guildwood GO Station on Kingston Road in Scarborough.
The Richards Group Block Party takes place on the night of Friday July 16. The drive-in concert will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and feature performances by The Free Label and Brass Transit.
On Saturday July 17 and Sunday July 18, the Afrofest Showcase celebration will take place at Guildwood GO Station.
Imah and Steele will perform on Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Performers for July 18, 7-10 p.m., will be Donne Roberts and Slim Flex.

Those wishing to attend the drive-through concerts at Guildwood GO Station, 4105 Kingston Rd., Must pre-register as parking spaces are limited. Only one ticket is required per vehicle, which can contain as many people as there are seat belts. Vehicle entry tickets start at $ 40. COVID-19 safety protocols will be applied during all drive-through performances.
