Allan Harris and Leesa Richards take the stage at Pompano Beach Cultural Center
The Pompano Beach Department of Cultural Affairs is delighted to once again welcome audiences live to the Pompano Beach Cultural Center for the remaining concerts of the Pompano Beach Arts Music Series. July concert features awesome jazz Allan harris and August presents soul singer Leesa Richards.
Both events will be hosted by popular DJ Tamara G. from WLYF 101.5. Tickets are $ 15, at www.pompanobeacharts.org/programs/music-series or to www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets will not be available at the box office and there will be no appointment.
“We are delighted to reopen our doors to clients,” said Phyllis Korab, Director of Cultural Affairs. “We’ve all been looking forward to this moment for quite some time now, and these concerts are the perfect way to celebrate the return of live music, with a live audience, at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center.”
In-person seating for these concerts will be limited and the City is asking all guests not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to wear a mask inside all City facilities.

Allan harris performs songs from his new version Kate’s Soulfood, as well as jazz standards from the Great American Songbook.
Since bursting onto the jazz scene in the late twentieth century, the Brooklyn-born, Harlem-based singer / guitarist / conductor / songwriter Allan harris reigned supreme as the most accomplished and outstanding singer of his generation. Rightly described by the Miami Herald as an artist endowed with “the warmth of Tony Bennett, the bite and rhythmic sense of Sinatra, and the sly elegance of Nat ‘King’ Cole, “ample and sonorous proof of Harris’ moving and masterful artistry can be heard on his fourteen recordings as a leader; – acclaimed concerts around the world, from Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York and Kennedy Center in Washington DC, to the London 2012 Olympics, and numerous prestigious bookings in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Singer-songwriter, Leesa is a storyteller, a soulful voice offering a soundtrack to life stories. The sound of the Detroit native draws from the deep roots of soul and jazz poetry.
She has performed with a roster of powerful artists including Hill of Faith, Whitney houston, The Bee Gees, Gloria Estefan, Jon secada, Julio Iglesias and Oleta Adams and recorded backing vocals for Barbra streisand and Lenny kravitz. His first solo album, Mother’s Child, is a rich blend of soul, rock and R&B ballads that showcases his songwriting skills.
She started perfecting her vocal chops with soul greats Gerald Austin and Peabo Bryson and contemporary soul maverick Dionne Farris. Her first world tour was as a dancer with a legendary singer Whitney houston after which she combined her love for music and dance to land the role of Mary Magdalene on the nationwide tour of the critically acclaimed Broadway musical Jesus Christ Superstar which led to performances across the States -United and Europe.
