Avett Brothers and Lake Street Dive announce concerts in upstate New York in 2022
Lake Street Dive, the genre-defying group that has made numerous visits to central New York City concert halls over the years, returns in 2022.
Lake Street Dive will headline a show at Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards in LaFayette on May 27. They will perform on a bill with The Avett Brothers the following night, May 28, at the Ommegang Brewery near Cooperstown. (The Avett brothers are also playing at Ommegang on May 27, while Lake Street Dive is at Beak ‘n Skiff).
It’s a relatively quick return to central New York City for Lake Street Dive, a pop, rock, R&B and jazz group born in Boston in the mid-2000s. The group performed a three-night series in June to kick off the Beak ‘n Skiff summer concert series.
Lake Street Dive has performed in venues in central New York several times, including Beak & Skiff in 2017 and 2018, and they have performed at the Westcott Theater in 2014, the Syracuse Jazz Fest in 2015, and the Ommegang Brewery in Cooperstown in 2016.
The Avett brothers, meanwhile, are hitting the Ommegang Brewery for a Memorial Day weekend “double show” on May 27-28. Both shows had to be rescheduled due to the pandemic. The May 27 show features guest Sierra Ferrell and the May 28 show features Lake Street Dive.
The Avett Brothers are a folk-rock group that made their debut in the early 2000s in North Carolina.
