DC Jazz Festival 2022 Initial Lineup Announced

The DC Jazz Festival (DCJF) has announced the initial lineup for its 18th edition, taking place August 31-September 4 in our nation’s capital. Confirmed headliners include Christian McBride & Inside Straight, Cindy Blackman Santana Band, DCJF Artist-in-Residence Orrin Evans’ Captain Black Big Band, Dianne Reeves, The Baylor Project, Emmet Cohen, Patrick Zimmerli with special guests Chris Potter and Clarence Penn, Donvonte McCoy, winners of the DCJazzPrix 2021 Giveton Gelin Quintet and Dayramir Gonzalez & Habana enTRANCé, Vox Sambou and the Dan Wilson Trio.
The festival includes more than 50 concerts, as well as Meet the Artist interviews and other events held throughout the city. The highlight of the lineup is the DC JazzFest at the Wharf, with a presentation of festival-style sets on September 3 and 4 at District Wharf, one of the city’s waterfront dining and entertainment hubs. of the Potomac River.
