Green Series concerts return to Prescott Valley

Last year, in an effort to break pandemic isolation, Yavapai College Performing Arts presented five great acts on the fresh grass of Prescott Valley and established a summertime tradition. This year, YCPAC is offering an encore of its Concerts on the Green series, with six major musical events, starting Sunday, June 5, at the Prescott Valley Civic Center Amphitheater.
This summer, Concerts on the Green charges off the blocks Sunday night, June 5 at 7 p.m., with FINNEGAN BLUE. Led by siblings Anna Lee and Willie Fleming, this hip and energetic combo combines a roster of original Irish and Bluegrass songs with a repertoire of hits from The Pogues, the Grateful Dead, Flogging Molly, Sublime and Amy Winehouse and more.
Concerts on the Green returns the following week with a raucous tribute to a legendary country duo. NEON CIRCUS: A BROOKS & DUNN TRIBUT celebrates the 20-year, 30-million-album legacy of two of Nashville’s most beloved artists. Join us on June 12, under the stars, for an evening featuring all of B&D’s number one hits: “My Maria,” “Neon Moon,” “You’re Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone” — and Moreover !
So get ready for a treat as Concerts on the Green welcomes legendary Latin singer CARO PIEROTTO to the stage on June 19! Winner of the 2020 Prêmio Profissionais da Música “Best MPB Video Award”, the Los Angeles-based singer and her all-star Brazilian band channel a wide range of musical influences – from Sade to Amy Winehouse to Bebel Gilberto – performing original and classic songs in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
On Independence Eve – Sunday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. – join us on the lawn of the Prescott Valley Civic Amphitheater for a lively patriotic tradition, performed by local favorites. THE PRESCOTT POPS: AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL celebrates our country through its rich and inspiring musical heritage.
Then LP AND THE VINYL, July 10 at 7 p.m., brings together four talented jazz musicians for a charismatic fusion of the familiar and the new. Vocalist Leonard Patton, pianist Danny Green, bassist Justin Grinnell and drummer Julien Cantelm spin the hits of Stevie Wonder, David Bowie and The Beatles through a captivating prism of jazz, with generous doses of jazz standards and melody. mixed original works.
Can it be magic? YCPAC closes this season’s Concerts on the Green on July 24, featuring a favorite from last year and the cannon of a pop music master. THE MAGIC OF MANILOW welcomes back pianist/vocalist Terry Davies (PIANO MEN: GENERATIONS) for a spectacular evening of legendary hits like “Mandy”, “Weekend in New England”, “Ready to Take a Chance Again” and “Copacabana” .
All six Concerts on the Green events will be held at the Prescott Valley Civic Center Amphitheater, 7501 East Skoog Blvd., Prescott Valley, 86314. Seating is general admission and guests may bring their own blankets or lawn chairs. Tickets for individual shows are $20 for adults and $5 for youth ages 9-17. Children 8 and under are free. Currently, YCPAC is offering its “Pick 4” subscription until June 5, where customers who purchase four or more Concerts on the Green events will receive a 15% discount.
