International Jazz Festival ends in Baku [PHOTO/VIDEO]

The Baku Jazz Festival 2021 has ended. The large-scale event took place in Baku from September 10-18.
This year, the Baku Jazz Festival differed from the traditional because it took place in a club format in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic.
Sophisticated jazz music
World famous musicians from Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Turkey, Russia, Israel and Luxembourg performed at the festival.
By tradition, the festival has hosted concerts by different children of jazz music, from recognized classics to ethno-jazz.
The last concerts were symbolic as Linda Bloemhard, Rain Sultanov and Daphne Levi delighted the audience with popular rhythms from the last century.
Stunning fashion show
Leyla Ahmadova’s fashion show has become a celebration of style and music. With their vibrant looks, the models on the runway have mesmerized both fashionistas and jazz fans alike.
The model parade at the end of the show can be compared to the changing Kafkaesque scenes.
Young talents shine on stage
The “I am Jazzman” gala concert was held as part of the event. The “I Am Jazzman” competition was held among musicians aged 14-30.
The project aims to reveal young talents among beginning musicians in love with jazz music. The competition provides an excellent platform for future professional jazz music.

First place went to singer Rustam Sadigly, second place to pianist Magomed Allahverdiyev, third place was shared by singers Asmar Najafova and Albina Pyaksheva.
11-year-old pianist Farid Zeynalov won a special prize. The winners also received cash prizes.
IMPROVISED by INDUSTRY
Figures of art have transformed semi-abandoned places into an incredible art space.
The exhibition of artistic project “Improvised by inDUSTry” was initiated by Bahram Khalilov, Konul Rafiyeva and Rustam Huseynov within the framework of the Baku Jazz Festival 2021.
The unique artistic project is dedicated to the visual refraction of space and time, the shift of paradigms and meanings, which have now turned into artefacts with new meanings.
The unique art event opened in the artist studios near Icharishahar metro station.
The exhibition began with a conceptual post-apocalyptic performance as talented artist Bahram Khalilov surprised art lovers with his paintings inspired by the sounds of rain.
The exhibition ended with the performance of the famous national dancer Farid Kazakov. Her graceful dance to the music of Frank Sinatra.
For more than 15 years, the Baku Jazz Festival has become a staple in the musical life of the country.
The musical event is hosted by renowned saxophonist Rain Sultanov to show Azerbaijan’s long-standing attachment to jazz.
The very first Baku Jazz Festival was held in 2005, since then it has become widely recognized as one of the main festivals in the country.
Since 2017, the festival has joined the Europe Jazz Network. The Baku Jazz Festival is also a member of the celebration of the UNESCO International Jazz Day.
