Jamestown Municipal Band to give three concerts at Allen Park Bandshell

the Jamestown Municipal Music will hold a series of three concerts at Bandshell Goranson in Allen Park from this Wednesday. Municipal band director Rick lundquist said they were happy to be back, especially after having to cancel the 2020 concert season due to the pandemic, which was the first time they had canceled since 1954.
He said the band will perform a variety of music: âAnd each program will cover things that we have already covered. Different themes like children’s music, music for other special events like patriotic music, Broadway shows, jazz. And we’re going to do some kind of mix of each genre, shall we say.
Lundquist said that many groups across the country are doing similar hour-long programs outdoors, âAnd the idea is, yeah, people can mingle. If you are fully vaccinated, you do not have to wear a mask unless you want to. And I’m sure there will be people there with masks and people there without masks. And so that’s what people want to do to be comfortable, to be together, while trying to space themselves out a bit on the hill overlooking the bandshell.
Lundquist added the Allen Park Women’s Club is scheduled to be at the July 28 and August 4 concerts selling refreshments to benefit Allen Park.
The Municipal Music concert on Wednesday begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
