MIDDLETOWN — Matt Chasen and the Hartford Jazz Society and Library Studio on Main Street will present four bands and four hours of jazz music on Saturday.

“Make Music: Winter Edition – Jazz Trail” will be held at the studio at 34 Broad St., according to Trevor Davis Jr. of Central City Productions. It will also be posted on the HJS Facebook page.

The concert, which will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., will feature Nigel Bello’s Latin Jazz Quartet, the Matt Pearl Trio, the Latin Essence Jazz Quartet and the Maxx Meether Trio, according to a press release.

Bello is a “great, promising young trombonist”, according to an article on hartfordjazzsociety.com.

Pearl, the site says, is an “excellent tenor saxophonist.”

Meether is a “serious, go-anywhere drummer, percussionist, and bandleader,” according to the post.

Performances by the Latin Essence Jazz Quartet feature “the Puerto Rican cuatro (a 10-string guitar and the national instrument of Puerto Rico), performed by Joe Diaz and his band,” according to the site.

Only 20 spots are available for $20 each ($10 for HJS members) in advance only at [email protected]

For in-person spectators, proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test performed within 72 hours is required for entry. All must wear a mask. Free municipal parking is available across from the Russell Library at 123 Broad St.
