Morris County Library resumes full operations May 2; concerts to celebrate the centenary

From the Morris County Commissioners:
Morris County Library resumes full operations May 2
Opening comes as library celebrates 100 years
The Morris County Library, which had been operating on a truncated schedule during the pandemic, is delighted to announce that it will resume full operating hours from Monday, May 2, 2022 – coincidentally in time for its centenary celebration.
Both floors and all sections of the Hanover Avenue facility in Whippany will be open to the public. No restrictions will be in place regarding social distancing or wearing a mask; although both are left to the discretion and comfort level of staff and guests.
Library hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday.
The library was closed from March to June 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Curbside service with modified opening hours was offered in July 2020, and the public was allowed back into the building in October 2020, but with capacity limits and other restrictions.
“In June 2021, the public was granted access to all areas of the building and Saturday hours resumed. The ramp-up was slow but steady to successfully resume full hours of operation. A big thank you to our loyal public for their support during these two years of struggle,” said the director of library services. Darren O’Neill.
The Library invites visitors to stop by to help commemorate the Morris County Library Centennial, 1922-2022!
“We have many in-person programs and classes planned throughout the year. Please see our website and social media pages for more information,” O’Neill said.
Two musical performances in recognition of the Morris County Library’s centennial celebration are already planned before the full opening.
