‘Socketis a song that takes you back to the days when there was someone or something that just seemed to have an inexplicable attraction to you. While one cannot forget his distinctive fusion sound – a mix of highlife, Afro-punk and Afro-jazz with its own twist, Nissi’s signature eclecticism covers this new sound.
Produced by Telz and Washy Fire, ‘Socketis a brilliant sound that celebrates the different tones and textures to that of Nissi voice – the hoarse, husky phrasing of the lyrics – a slow takeover of the emotions you feel when you listen to this melodic work. With prominent strings in that of Nissi sound, wrapped in the new octaves of her voice when you think you’ve heard her full range, Nissi has the inimitable ability to reinvent itself in a way that’s pleasing to the eye.

Always looking for ways to explore his musicality, Nissi smoky, soothing and groovy curate – doing ‘Socket‘an honest fusion of sounds. âI think we can all understand each other in one way or another. When I did this song, the chorus was the first thing that came to me by tapping into that exact feeling that the instrumental gave me. Personally, I hate not having control over the things that concern me, so naturally all that took hold of me was a rocky place, so I sang about what this experience could be and feel like. One thing I really love about the record is that every time I listen to it the lyrics really take me to a world that matches the lyrics of the song.
