Upper Dublin teacher accused of having sex with student
Rose Limuli, 39, of Lansdale, faces 12 counts of institutional sexual assault.
Police said Limuli had had “inappropriate sexual relations” with the student since December 2015. The allegations were reported to police on March 31.
According to investigators, the victim and other students were hanging out in Limuli’s classroom because she was “cool” and would even provide food for the students.
After the victim turned 18, Limuli reportedly gave the victim their cell phone number and information for their Snap Chat account.
The conversations turned into sexual encounters at a dog park in Upper Dublin Township and at the victim’s home while her mother was away, police said.
Limuli allegedly even had sexual contact with the victim at the back of the classroom – during class – and allegedly muttered sexual comments.
In addition, police said Limuli bought the teenager an all-terrain motorcycle, shoes and clothing and gave him $ 1,000 in cash.
Limuli’s bail was set at $ 50,000 without security, provided she had no contact with the victim or other students.
In a statement, school district superintendent Dr Deborah Wheeler said Limuli was suspended while charges were pending.
Limuli underwent a background check, Wheeler said, and those checks “gave no indication of previous criminal behavior.”
